QUESTIONS&ANSWERS... Floral Supplies
I am using the colored foam for centerpieces with fresh holiday greens, it will have a candle in the center and a candle cup. my question is...how do I make sure the foam is secure to the bottom? I am concerned that the wet foam will not adhere. Will a glue gun work? JH
No the glue gun will not work permanently - that type of glue is affected by hot / cold changes and will 'pop' free when you don't want it to. lessons learned the hard way over the years. 3 options easily available: * We use Lomey glue to hold any type of foam to the container. It is designed for use with foam and water. It is made by theOasis company. They recommend you glue the foam to the container before soaking as usual.
* Another option is 'Cling', a clay-like adhesive that comes in a roll. You pull pieces off as needed. This is not as secure as above -but is easier to remove after the event - to reuse the container
* Another tried and true product is Floral tape - holds up great in moisture and sticks well to most containers. It needs to be hidden by your greens / flowers. available in green / white / clear and widths to 1" wide depending on type.
