QUESTIONS & ANSWERS... Fresh Flowers
When should I order?
Orders can be placed as soon as you know what you want to use at your wedding / event. All orders need to be reserved in writing to hold your date. You can change the date and flowers – but we cannot guarantee products if you have not reserved the date and specific items with us. Only exception to the rule is... Nature does not guarantee to come through with specific product on schedule, so substitutions may apply the week of your event - it rarely happens - but Nature does rule!
When do we deliver?
We ship your wedding / event flowers Tuesday or Wednesday – depending on what fresh flowers you have ordered. All our flowers are so fresh, you will need them a little early to allow them to open to whatever stage you want them at – e.g. lilies can take 5 to 7 days to open. We deliver by US Post Office or FedEx’s schedule and that depends on their delivery schedule. Hard goods can be shipped by ground whenever you want to receive them – even months in advance. We recommend doing this, as some items can be discontinued without notice and no item like it left on the market.
Can I Order Fresh flowers & Hard Goods together?
Flowers cannot be shipped with most non- perishable items (hard goods), due to special packaging requirements.
Fresh Flowers must be shipped overnight or at least 2nd day Air to guarantee the freshness we sell. The shipping charges are higher for this service, so we recommend hard goods be ordered separately to SAVE
you shipping dollars
This slight inconvenient way of ordering can save you major dollars in shipping.
You get to control how much you want to spend to receive the non-perishable products.
What if I need a rush Order?
steps-to-memories.com accepts rush orders – up to 2 days before the day of the event!
There is no extra handling charges for rush orders, but other shipping charges may be incurred to accommodate special requests. You must call or fax your order in,so the Consultant can verify if order is available and also verify the shipping mode and payment plan you choose.
Why are there no deliveries of fresh flowers on Mondays?
Our growers, Overnight carriers and the staff at STM,llc do not work on Sunday.
There is no carrier pickup of orders on Sunday when we would have to pack a Monday delivery to you. We do not ship overnight on Friday if it going to sit in transit from Friday to Monday – the flowers will not hold their vase life for you.
Some major cities do have Saturday delivery by most carriers - but they all charge an extra fee for delivery. Your address and zip code MUST BE VERIFIED before accepting a Saturday / Sunday delivery
FedEx delivers in my area. How come you don’t?
You may have FedEx service, but not FedEx Standard Overnight as one of the options.
We send alot of our fresh flowers by this means to guarantee their freshness. We do have a release form for you to sign if this is the only way to get fresh flowers to you. It simply states you understand and agree that the flowers may loose some of their hydration if shipped 2nd day air. This one reason our shipping department goes the 'extra mile' to check the best means to get your fresh flowers to you. We do not shipp by one carrier only - they all do not have a 'one size fits all' program.
